The Silence of Freedom I was born and raised in America The freedom to think, the right to speak But for whom? We don't have to like it or take it to our hearts But there'd be nothing left to say If we never looked to seek anothers view They took a land so one did not need to conform Perhaps a calm before the storm You can't hear the silence of freedom It seems to me they make a new rule everyday With a million exceptions and concessions, but not for you Just shut your hole! So what's it to you if we aren't hurting anyone Tell me, where's the use for justice When it never seems to find an ideal role? They'll patronize you, tell you what you want to hear Until there's no room left for your ears To hear the silence of freedom You can't hear the silence of freedom There's nowhere else I'd rather live To see life evolve and grow There's so much more we need to give But I love it - HERE IN AMERICA LET'S BREAK THE SILENCE OF FREEDOM YOU CAN'T HEAR THE SILENCE OF FREEDOM Copyright 2000 (Robert West)
